why don't you keep out of things that don't even interest you,if mtoto wants to email me he can iv'e already said that in a previous post, but if he's anything like the others on this thread who really are interested he'll want to find the answers for himself,I had to and it took a long time I also know that i'll make mistakes that's all part of the learning process and lastly i don't know all the answers because i don't posses the form books,But i'm quite sure i'm playing in the right ball park. To add my tuppence worth, two races at Folkestone yesterday highlighted why vdw disregarded low class races, the two horses concerned Isa'af and Perfidious, they had many attributes of vdw type, but at the lower end of the scale, and I doubt that they would have been classed as wagers for that reason.

At the other end of the scale,a good thing has gone in at Newmarket today, which I feel vdw would have wagered on.

Do you mean Olden Times? My only (but substantial) reservation was the long lay off, but in all other respects it was absolutely nailed on.

Fulham,
Yes that's the one, that was the only reservation, but a slight one, when everything is looked at.

A horse for the notebook is Noble Pasao, from the 4.25 Beverley, where the winner Trouble Mountain was looked at carefully before being allowed to run.

I thought ATTACHE, KHAIZARANA and LEAVE TO APPEAL would make a half decent treble. I let INDIAN HAVEN go, Rightly or wrongly.

I must admit that I wasn't able to pinpoint Needwood Blade yesterday, that threw me a bit.
I tend to avoid sprints,I don't think vdw gave too many examples of them, but I would be interested in the selection of Needwood Blade.

Guest,

Yesterday I also highlighted Needwood Blade and Smokin Beau, I however decided to give the race a miss. (7/4 dutched doesn't appeal) Would have to lay out too much for a decent return. You seemed to agree with Investor this was a decent VDW selection though.

Today Attache was found using the same methods. Do you agree he is a VDW selection? If not were, and how does he fail. He was top on my ability rating (as I have said it really one of VDW's) He is consistent, and he is in the first six in the forecast. He had proven he could compete in the class. I know you say that isn't a requirement, but you must agree it is a bonus. In the Roushayd method it is a requirement, that is were I took the filter from.

Also, could you give your thoughts on Poliantas in the 2:30 at Cheltenham today? I didn't select him, but a person I know did. He works very hard at trying to understand VDW, did you make him a form horse, or even the c/form horse?

I have directed these question to Guest, but anyone is more than welcome to give their opinions.

Be Lucky

Mtoto - I made 3 bets today and detailed them beforehand to another member on this board along with another I thought would win but should be left alone. The latter was Olden Times WON 5/2 and the 3 bets were Selective 2nd/Royal Millenium 4th, Poliantas WON 6/1 with Fondmort 2nd and Bas De Nuit WON EVs.

Poliantas was found via the "best bet/next best" approach or my interpretation of it. This differs from the class/form approach in some respects, but not all.

I left Olden Times partly because of the layoff, though we know he runs well fresh, but mostly because of a fairly serious injury that caused the layoff.

It's interesting that nobody mentioned Midnight Gunner yesterday. I made him a confident selection in the 1.55 at Cheltenham on the basis of a high Ability rating, very consistent sound form, dropped in class from a decent 4th at Newbury previously. Nothing else in the field had anywhere near the same form credentials.

I can't find anything so strong at Cheltenham today.

Re Guests last post, I`d just like to confirm that it`s not me he`s proofing his bets to, can`t think why not though.

My guess is that as a reward for his enthusiastic cheerleading and ego pumping the recipient of Guests 40% sr is.............wait for it, lets have a drum roll, yes you`ve guessed (wasn`t hard was it) sometimes known as runt, 1/4 pint and stupid boy, it`s the one and only Investor.
