re-maximize-stable going through a bad patch and on the back of a 21 losing run over the last 25 days.
i like the look of poliantis especially if the ground is softening up.true up in class but improving.
good luck anyway.

You live near Sandown you lucky man, do you visit the track much?

I agree with a lot of what you've go to say about todays racing, although I think I'd like to see the going change to good before backing Maximise, otherwise I'd leave it alone (I wouldn't back against it).

On the subject of going, unless there's a dramatic change (-> GS) I wouldn't bet against Intersky Falcon beating Copeland on the day (although again I won't be backing it). It looks like a cracking race is on the cards.

Finally the 3:25, Simeon is a good horse (poss. Listed/ Grp 3) but in Hathaal & particularly Right Approach he's taking on horses that COULD be genuine Grp 1 or 2 class. I don't feel confident that the day will be his and feel that so far this season he's been in a position to take advantage of a false handicap mark. Johnston is a great trainer but for me lacks truly top class horses and this puts him at a disadvantage when compared to the big guns from the south. He's also got an inferiority complex to match (hence the way he's been talking up his 3yos all Spring).

Well there's facts, opinions etc. and we'll see what happens this afternoon. Not a day for my putting on my betting boots.

Good luck to one and all.

Couldn't find any strong selections today. Poliantas is probably better than the class 47 he won, he's run 2nd to Mr Cool and Run For Paddy. Maximize is suited by the conditions.

I reckon Copeland is worth opposing. Impek could be best here, lightly raced this season and should be frsh, but it's a tight contest.

Logician has better form than form figures suggest and may be best in the first, but once again a tight contest where there's a few with a shout.

Didn't post yesterday as my recent selections have been abysmal, but I managed to select Sharpastrizam to beat Star Jack at 7-1, bailing myself out a bit for the month, and saving myself from Fantasy Racing relegation!

It's surprising how many winners can be found using the Roushayd method.
Today Kadarann looks head and shoulders above opposition, the price is debateable, whether it is value or not.
Does anyone think Red Guard was a good thing yesterday at Fontwell,
regards.

Regarding Guest's summing up of the days racing I agree with his thoughts on Landing Light and Maximise but would leave Simeon and Kadarann. Right Approach is top on ability just from that one win in a newmarket maiden but if we have to judge 2yo non group form it is these 6k maiden races at the top courses where competition is stiffest that some of the really top horses kick off.RA debuted in and won one of these and was well suported at 7/2 to boot. Simeon has the form in the book but if RA is a serious derby contender it has to win today as horses beaten in classic trials do not win classics. With that in mind I would have to let the race go.
Kadarann is streets ahead on ability but is not a bet at the likely price. Europa ran well for a long way over a longer distance lto so will be fit. Various ratings put a fit Europa right up with Kadarann so things may not be as cut and dried as it appears. Coupling that with Ks probable odds means my innate caution says a race to watch.
All in all an interesting and varied days racing.
regards,

san 2.15 flagship uberalles who had a very hard race l.t.o. to take the beating again likes a break between his races apparently so trusting to mr hobbs a little here.

san 3.30 frenchmans creek has a favourites chance also but carbury cross could prove dangerous so will dutch the 2.

hi pipedreamer hope you dont mind if i reply,

i had it between tobago(who i thought the likely winner) and red guard, when he pulled out it became a likely winner but not quite a good thing because of windy valley.(in my opinion)

i considered k.fallons opinion in that race also along with kaiteur but didnt vdw say somewhere to steer clear of horses with targets??

If he has a target the race could well be irelevant in the overall picture, it will be interesting to see the pace of the race tomorrow.

kaitur ive still got my eye on him.

At Sandown today the following are class/form for me.

3.30 Frenchmans Creek
2.15 Flagship Uberalles

Other class/form combinations don't have all the attributes in my view ie Sudden Shock in the first with a few factors against and likewise Chancellor in the 4.10.

I'll be backing both Frenchmans Creek and Flagship Uberalles plus one other horse at a minor meeting with outstanding claims as provided by VDWs 3yo method.

Have a good day everyone.

I`m sure Guest can fight his own corner if he feels he needs to.

What I can say is that Guests comments, etc have proved invaluable to me and I sincerely hope your `attack` doesn`t push him away.

With the greatest respect to you I read and re-read Guests posts many times.

Yours however haven`t really set my pulse racing.

I`ll say no more.

I`d be interested in anybodies comments on the above 2 races.

Was there a possible Roushayd horse in the 4.40 ?

Anybody feel a VDW selection was evident in the 5.15 ?

Determined - I'm gald you have found some use from my posts. You're right I could fight my own corner but I don't think I'll bother too much.

It seems everyone has their own ideas about what VDW was really about and that's fine, maybe that is what our friend intended. At the end of the day it is down to the decisions made by oneself that determine long term success. VDW gave us the tools to help make those decisions, but it's up to the individual how they use them.

Members can make their own minds up about things I have written about, but not about those things I have kept to myself. I'm not into the idea of tipping competitions or suchlike and I have only posted selections or class/form horses when time permitted. Members can judge for themselves as I'm sure they will or have done so.

Some things have been taken for granted, one of which is that I bet to level stakes. In keeping with VDWs ideas this is not the case as there is plenty of room for using variable stakes as and when needed.

In closing I would say that whilst I intend to keep reading certain threads on the board, my own postings will be restricted and some may rejoice at that. smile)

I find I have been drawn into a situation where I can't get any more specific about certain aspects of VDW and I'm personally not that interested in proofing my own bets to satisfy others. All that matters on that particular front is that I am well in front with the way I use VDWs methods and I know that will remain the case for some time.

Over to you guys.

Investor.

May I ask a question? When are you going to post your thoughts and selections? It would be very interesting to see them. Could you also explain why you think Guest was bucking the odds? We don't know what you backed in those races but both Max and Statajack consider some of them were good bets. Do they lose credibility for you?

While I may not agree with some of Guest views, at least he was prepared to discuses them in more detail than many others. He will be a lose, and I don't think you will be able to fill the gap. You ask about..........

It Takes Time, I made him the c/form horse, I also decided there was no value in the price.
Flagship Uberalles I didn't make him the c/form horse, but the most likely winner. Again no bet, because for what ever reason he had never won a race this late in a season. I felt he may have left the best at Cheltenham.
Frenchman's Creek, c/form horse I thought he was a vdw selection. The only negative was the price, I managed to get 9/2 and I was more than happy to back him.

What are your thoughts on the last two?

Guest I wish you well and would be more than happy to hear from you at any time.
