JIB and Lee.

I'm familiar with that old song and I like it a lot.

As Lee says, the power is there for all. It's inside us.

Even dealing with circumstances beyond our control can come, but it takes time.

I found all mt life that things I wanted did arrive, but much later than I'd wanted.

Much of the delay was caused by my wrong mind-set.
Pity really, because money will come and go, but "time" which IS our "life" will never come back.

That's why I always told my kids to make the best of it while you can. None of us will last for ever - thank Fk!

Hi Pipedreamer

Actually, you have the perfect name for training the subconscious mind!

What do you dream of? What do you want from life? What do you want to achieve? You focus on those things. Write down exactly what you want and when you want them by. Then keep focussed on the answers.

If its a particular house or car or amount of money or whatever, get a picture of it in your mind. Get actual pictures if you can and plant them around the house. Just before you go to sleep - see yourself owning / driving / having whatever it is. You need to do this daily and ongoingly.

After a few weeks, sit down and write a plan of how much money you need to save in order to buy that thing and break it down into monthly chunks. You need to review the plan daily too if poosible - certainly 3x a week.

Do NOT say "this is unrealistic, I don't even earn this much, how can I save that?"

Just write it down. Over the next few months, as long as you are keeping the dream in focus and plan reviewed, your subconscious mind will begin to formulate ways of realising the dream.

And that's how I ended up in Wormwood Scrubs. 10 years for armed robbery. It would have worked too if only I hadn't got caught.

Nessie,

Your post above is a demonstration of negative thought.

You could of course try turning this negative situation into a positive one by actually using your time constructively.

Lee. You have made me think negatively. I spend a lot of time looking - but if I can not see it then no matter how often I am told to keep looking it does not help. so I ask for help and I am told to keep looking. do you see my point? or should I keep looking?

How about telling the one factor (that apparently stares you inthe face - but not me ) that runs through all of vdw selections. No? thought not.

positively " everything you need is in the form book"
negatively "not telling you - its in the form book"

Glad to see that we have Dr Joseph Murphy in common. A much more sensible read than Clive Holt. Smile

Nessie,

One can either believe, by evidence, intuition, or a mixture of both, that there is something in the VDW method, or indeed not.

However, if one decides that it is worth a closer look then the only thing that is standing in the way of the answers, is themselves.

i worked in direct sales for a while and positivity is drummed into you from day one.I remember on one particular occasion,I had to go and demonstrate the product to a lovely middle aged couple,The only problem was when the telesales girl phoned the lead she led them to believe i was a proffesional carpet cleaner and they had completely emptied the living room into the conservatory.I was actually there to sell them the machine,I plugged away for an hour and a half,Went through all the spiel and eventually got to the close.Where the gentleman stopped me and said there was no need to carry on,He wanted the machine. He asked me to wait a minute,I cleaned the machine down,Wakked into the kitchen to clean the shampooer and there on the table was 1,295 quid in 20's and 10's.I thought after that.If i can go into a situation like that and come up smelling of roses i can do anything. Nice one, Investor!

Sometimes the most unpromising of situations produce the most beneficial results!

And when things should be a cakewalk, everything goes wrong!

Bit like favourites in the horseracing game, I suppose.

'Tis a funny old life, but there's nothing better on this earth.

Lee. I do think vdw has merit but I cant find the clues that you speak of. I do keep trying, and I do keep asking. You and I keep saying the same thing "Look in the form book" "yes but where?"

Nessie,

Have you looked at the selections that VDW gave?

Two shoe salesmen came to the Amazon region:

The first one telegraphed back "please send more supplies urgently, no one has any shoes here".

The second one telegraphed back "Am returning early as no one uses footwear in this region."

Is your glass half empty or half full?

Walter,

An interesting post which as yetI note no one has responded to which could mean you are onto something ?

I'd like to offer a view but do not consider myself well enough versed to comment.

As you say, hopefully someone will in due course.

“In Pegwell Bays race,....He notably leaves some ratings out which had been there before, why? “

In my view this is because it conflicted with spells it all out. I have the ability ratings for this race on a crashed hard drive, which I can no longer access. I could be wrong but going from memory Pegwell Bay was not in the top 4 on ability. I think Smart Tar was top on ability and Townley Stones’ ability was incorrect. I’m sure someone will put me right if this is not the case.
Another point is why is Bishops Yarn included when it is not mentioned in the forecast, yet Smart Tar who is in the forecast has been left out.

Walter,

Personally I think the last three races gives you enough to say if the horse is consistent. Obviously if the horse is ultra consistent then take as many races as you want. Class is permanent in as much as it doesn't change unless the horse improves.

Looking at Roushayd and Double Vodka I can't really see them as consistent, but that is just me. If you are determined to find a reason to say a horse is consistent then in most cases I suppose it is possible. A little bit of cherry picking here, a bit of juggling there.

It would be interesting if you could/would say what it is about Roushayd's form that you have found to make him stand out. If the s/f is not taken into consideration I can see absolutely nothing to make the form stand out. He reversed the form with an eased Vouchsafe, and was never a danger. I do wonder if Lee is giving a clue when he says what it does or doesn't do at the sharp end. This is a case of what he didn't do. Using the s/f I would use this horse if it was running tomorrow as an improver. Take out the s/f and I just can't see how he is improving. Many who study VDW say he is improving even if he had recorded NO s/f. I have wasted far to much time on this horse, and I still can't see it.

Be Lucky

Just my opinion, but in the cases of Maraahel and Impeller, the previous 3 runs should tell you all you need to know.
Likewise with Roushayd, although his class was taken into account, the decision to bet/not to bet was taken purely on his recent form.
