I don't think that retrieval on first and second favs in small fields is exactly what VDW had in mind!!!!!!!!!!!!! Besides both JIB and myself have practised retrieval some 20 year ago (long before we met) What JIB says is correct, the day WILL come when you have to put so much on that you will either chicken or lose it all. That day might not come for a long time, perhaps months and months, but believe me (us) it will come allright. |

BC,
Thank you for your kind words. I shall try to continue to be worthy of them. |

Turbo has obviously had the November Handicap as his target for some time, and one can be fairly certain that he is really out to win.
The only question that remains is, is he good enough? |

Hi Swish
Don’t worry. It could have gone either way. With my strike rate of 40-45%. The odds were in your favour anyway. And it gave your system another winner too! What do we do where the fav is odds on? I think I will exclude 2nd favs when the favorite is below 5/4. and just place 1 pt on the fav. OK? Yesterdays 5 & 6 Runner results: -0.42 Down Royal 2.45 (5R) Macs Joy 4/7F +0.15 Fontwell 2.10 (6R) Lost –0.84 Fontwell 3.10 Mouseski (5R) –0.01 So after day 2, we’ve had 4 out of 7 win and are about break even. General Although I can see Swish’s point about picking two out of 5 and 6 runner races as being easy (obviously), I think the point is that the method is looking for very high strike rate opportunities, regardless of the size of field. And Investors selections won. These other races are running at 57% (admittedly only two days worth) and two of those winners were odds on. Sat, November 6.
I looked at the most valuable race on the flat today, but found it too difficult. The selections I came up with were Distant Prospect Tender Falcon. I prefer the 220 Doncaster, £19.5K Listed A1, 6f. Even though it is a sprint! In this, my VDW type selections are CAPE FEAR RUBY ROCKET ROYAL STORM ( best at the top, imo). This message has been edited. Last edited by: Seanrua, |

has Ellison tried a small weight compression exercise in the November Handicap?
The one he has compressed for has Fallon on. Carte Diamond could be the winner..then again I couldn't pick my nose recently |

A good day. I've picked out four I like the look of:
Don 1.20 Foreign Affairs (ev) Don 2.20 Ruby Rocket (11/4) Don 4.00 Sendintank (5/4) Win 2.05 Comply or Die (4/5) Good luck all. BlackCat __________________________________________________________ "If you don’t know where you are going, any road will get you there". |

Ectoo,
You could say the same for M Johnston as well, Bendershaan being his intended winner. |

Bendershaan. Is it of interest that the jockey -J Fanning - has an 18% (46/244) strike rate riding for M. Johnson in 2004.

Ectoo,
I originally had Carte Diamond as my selection. but rejected him bc of weight and draw. BC: Snap! I've backed three of your selections ( subject to them getting matched). |

I believe Sendintank should be left to run today. There are higher class horses in the race,And imo Contact Dancer is a massive danger. That is of course my opinion,But i would certainly leave that race well alone. |
