Bensam and Reference point left very early on.Marchwood got his marching orders.Barney i believe has been banned and Guest and Fulham got sick and tired of all the crap,Guest pops back now and again. But Fulham vowed not to come back. Smile

Investor: I think you'll find Fulham's been sacked, his posts appear with his name in angular brackets.

The likely winner, imo, but the drop in class & distance suggest this could be a sighter for something else. No bet.
1.30 Chel' LOUGH DERG
Not my kind of race. No bet.

2.40 Chel' THISTHATANDTOTHER
A bet

2.20 Donny KELREV
His best chance for some time, but may lack the 'balls'. No bet.

3.30 Donny MISTER MCGOLDRICK
A bet
Have a good day all,

Good to see that our short lists are pretty much identical. Best of luck.

Saturday, December 11,

time for my attempt ar a VDW selection.

240 Cheltenham, Class A , grd 3, £53.8K Hcp Chs, 2m 5f.

I see I'm at odds with Determined and johnD, but I go

MONKERHOSTIN
TIKRAM
MASSAC

That's my shortlist. I've filtered by "Topspeed", last 3 form figs and betting forecast position.

I'd rated Fondmort higher than these, but he failed on recent form and forecast position.

11.03 am.

My own bet? More likely to be at Southwell. I may do Tikram EW if I can get 20/1 ( unlikely).

Good luck but Monkerhostin isn't a form horse imo.

Determined/Johnd
The 3 for serious consideration have to be.
NON SO
mISTER MCGOLDRICK
THISTHATANDTOTHER.

In the 1.30 Monets garden/Dalaram pose problems for me.MG looks the most likely.

Kelrev although running in good class,But off a low weight. And today set to carry top weight. Not even a consideration.

Another that interests me is Gunther mcbride,Any opinions on that one. Smile

I've obviously gone to fk with my ratings:

Fondmort 273
Tikram 235
Monkerhostin 219
Massac/Armaturk 202
T'other nowhere.

On forecast price and last 2 form figs, I took out F ans A.

BTw, there seems to be agreement on This thatandt'other in the class race of the day.

Why are you messing about with other races so?

VDW said only do that if you couldn't find the winner in the best.

Very quickly as my priority these days is cheering on the one and only S****horpe Utd.

Up the Iron !

JOHND,

I fully expect Non So to turn up ( like Isio last year ) in the Victor Chandler next when he'll be receiving weight form the class horses.
Today could therefore be a sighter but in my opinion he was readied to win first time out ( to the boil)and would have won (?) if not falling.
I do not expect the horse to have gone backwards at home and therefore he'll be there to win today !

All,

KELREV, I believe will always be better conceding weight to inferior horses and whilst he seems to find very little off the bridle, he may not have to do so today ?

Good lucl all,

from the principal meeting the main focus of attention should be on the 2 highest penalty value races,But others may fall into the method. And then the highest class race from the other meetings.

You need to be focusing on

Novice chases
H/cap chases/hurdles

He wasn't big on Novice hurdles FULL OF NON DISCRIPT ANIMALS.And there are good betting propositions to be found in these races.Having said that,I have no record of him playing in a novice hurdle,Hope this helps. Smile

Well, there must be something up, as I focussed on the best handicap chase of the day - at £53.8K, not to be sneezed at.

You've agreed on Thisthatetc.

I still don't see that VDW would fk about with other races.
Where's the principle?

This is what vdw wrote in 'spells it all out"

1.Select the most valuable race on the card (principal)

2.Consider next most valuable race.

3.Select most valuable race from other cards.

Rate entire fields for ability.

Select most consistent from first 5/6 in betting.

Apply selected methods of rating to entire field.

He also said that other races may come into the method,But to stick to the higher class races.Basically he was focussing on horses that were running in the better class races because there form stands up better. Smile
