I also backed CHIVES, might have won if hadn't blundered last fence.

Fulham,
Was your "refused to race" bet, MOVING EARTH?
If so I backed same horse, who promptly won next time out at 7-1, when i didn't back it,
Cheers
Swish

Yes, but I did back it next time out as well, but only in running with Betfair once it had started, at about 4/1!

Thanks Determined

It will intersting to see where Serenus is placed next time from the other race.

1.40 Musselburgh

Has anyone looked at this race yet ?

Good prize money on offer here, but judging by the ability ratings not an awful lot of class around.

At first glance Cita Verda stands out with Cosmic Case having place possibilities - a lot more work to do yet though.

I will not be backing the following:-

Khan Kicker - weight, time off course
Noel's Pride - distance and going
My Shenandoah - going
Old Marsh - distance (though this is one to watch - improved when upped in class lto now over extra half mile)
Comete Du Lac - distance
Ontos - distance
Shalbeblue - distance
Cosmic Case - form
Chaos Theory - form
Bodfari Signet - going
Lord Of The Loch - ability

Leaving

Cita Verda
Paperprophet
Plutocrat

Plutocrat - all over the place distance-wise, not in this class

Paperprophet - class/form, but not in this class

Cita Verda - improved when upped in class lto, now dropped in class but upped in distance.

Cita Verda for me.

Good post, nice to get a bit of discussion going prior to the race.

Have to agree pretty much with what you say.

Paperprophet just looks a bit outclassed to me and the speed figures for the 2 wins are not good, makes it opposable in my book.

Plutocrats only form for a good long while LTO also has no decent speed figure, again this makes him worth opposing.

Plutocrat is the Pricewise horse so hopefully this will help Cita Verdas price who incidentally was 15/2 with one of the internet bookmakers last night, nothing like that available now - must get my evaluations done earlier LOL

Duh!! I filled in the gaps for you in my penulitate post. You have read the book I take it, or do you want it again verbatim.

Barney

You would make an excellent detective, I could probably email you the s\Life form of the races you require if I had your addy.

Mr e d,

Which book are you talking about? The one VDW wrote, or the one you think he wrote? I work on the principle if VDW had wanted to include words he would off. You seem to included them for him.

I asked you to do the analysis, because I didn't want you to say I had put a personal slant on it. I say that because I think you would be very brave, or foolish, to back PK based on it's last 3 runs. I am happy to put up an analysis of the 3 horses if you want Beacon Light, Mr Kildare and Prominent King, if you would then explain why BL wasn't forgiven for his last defeat on heavy going. Remembering, Guest was happy to forgive Florida Pearl for his defeat when he was favourite at Leopardstown. All I ask is some consistency when you are trying MAKE the examples work. I don't think BL was ever good enough to win the Erin, in or out of form, so we can take him out of the equation.

I am sorry to see Guest go, as I think you will be a very poor substitute for him. roll eyes

Be Lucky

Greg i had a look at this race last night in a vain attempt to sort out a bigun for the tipping challenge as you do when its the final day & your currently standing out with the washing, i went for newick park but your horse was on my shortlist along with the fav, the fav was no good to me pricewise so i picked between the 2 lol, the rest is now history as they say i didn`t play in the race though and only had the one bet today won a distance.Look forward to your synopsis later on, once again well done smile.

Yes indeed well done, I can well see where you were coming from.

Mr. toto

You are dead right I would be a poor substitute for Guest, as I don't suffer fools gladly

Hello Mtoto,

Sorry, I don’t understand your point about Prominent Kings last 3 runs. I think you wrote "..you would be very brave or foolish to back P.K. based on it’s last 3 runs".Are you saying it wasn’t possible to tell from the last 3 runs that he could win a race of this class, or are you saying the last 3 runs showed he was out of form? Or are you saying both, or neither?

I would genuinely be interested in your analysis of Beacon Light, Mr Kildare and Prominent King if you feel able to put them up.You may have gathered that when it comes to devotions my prayer mat faces in Guests direction. We do have to keep an open mind though, don’t we?

I think that is a bit harsh saying Mr Ed would be a very poor substitute for Guest. On the evidence of what he,s posted so far I’d say he was at least as generous.I get the impression he’s got a sense of humour as well, but for some reason your posts don’t seem to bring it out in him.

On a slightly different matter, does anyone remember, possibly in the mid to late 80’s in Sports Forum, that the term "Key races" was brought up.Was it Erudite from Liverpool? Or maybe it was someone else. I honestly couldn’t say that this was related to VDW but it just keeps cropping up in my mind for some reason. I think some of you have been studying VDW for a while now.Anyone remember it?

Greg,

Well done with your selection today.

Cheers everyone.
