IMO FONDMORT has the best recent form in the race, and you could forgive his last run on the grounds that he is not up to that level at 2m. On Saturday he has 11st 12lbs over a distance he has never tried, which would put him out of it for many. However, he certainly wasn't stopping in his penultimate race, and Kempton on fastish ground, would be the course for him to do it. 14/1 as well?

In the 2.35 at Warwick today, Hermes has possibly the best recent form, is consistent, improving, and trip, track, and going, should be no problem. However, Horus is still unexposed, if you accept Mtoto's theory that he is a good ground horse; and his last run over this distance was impressive. Let's hope it survives the frost.
