recent form figures are more a coincidence than meaningful, once you get your head around that you won't be supporting horses that other punters are charmed to bet because they have lots of 1's and 2's in their last 3 runs.

there is more to a complex subject like horse racing than whether a horse is consistent or not, in fact consistent horses are generally badly handicapped horses

2.25 Don -

I can't even begin to form an opinion on this race !

I initialy looked at the entries, and thought - Nichols is targetting this race - so why not back all 4 of his runners ! - But d'ynow what - I checked, and -

His record in 4yo Handicaps at Doncaster is - 1 from 109 !!! - 1%

I have heard it suggested that he is using this a a prep race for "Funfair Wayne" for the Ayr Gold Cup !

I Wouldn't have backed that if i'd have seen it through a crystal ball.Although having said that it did win the race 2 years ago,The nearest i got to a bet in that particular race was Prince aaaron.

Now then i mentioned horses that win,And vinnie Roe has just completed the 4 timer in the irish st leger.Fill your f.....g boots.Never underestimate class,I'm suprised you never mentioned him,Not an ideal prep but the trainer knew what he was doing.

The tatling..Went down lto to Pivotal point by a length giving the horse 6lb,Today 4lb better off for that length defeat,Bless ya. Smile

Oh by the way both were top 3 cons,Top 4 ability,Class and form my friend,It won't let you down when the time is right. Wink

Ectoo,

The bit about consistent horses being generally badly handicapped was brilliant!

We must never stop looking at things from different perspectives.

VDW actually gave a second numerical picture in his Pegwell Bay example, (And also with Roushayd). The real question is how to interpret it?

If posters were really genuine about getting to the bottom of these methods then i would gladly put them up before hand,That believe it or not was my intention,And onof the reasons why i came back.As for Vinnie Roe Have a look at my post to Epiglotis unfortunately i can't remember which page it was,And i think you may understand why i would have seen vinnie Roe way before the off,And i personally codn't believe that 7/2 was easily available,Absolute steal. No doubt you read form and it was quite easy to see a reversal with Pivotal Point /The tatling 4lbs better off for 1 length i mean come on you don't just open the paper or whatever,Close your eyes and stick a pin in.Like the man said most races are won by form horses but what is form the way vdw meant. He said "the odds are it will remain obscure" and he was right because folk just don't understand what he meant.I'm not going to apologise for aftertiming,Jib made comment about Funfair Wane so i just put my view across r.e other horses were there for the taking. Investor
Perhaps you could use your 100% hindsight to explain the 4 lengths turnaround in form, as a 4lb difference would hardly qualify?

Why,Because Pivotal point was c/form.A 4lb swing for 1 length is a big swing,This was evident the other day with Nordwind/Haiayda which i nearly messed up on. Smile

I'm hoping MR JACK DANIELS can lead all the way in the 5.05, ran well last time against a front pace that should have emptied his tank late on and didn't.

Thank you, Trojan, for pointing out the "VDW library" at e-bay.

After a fortunate day, involving Airwave, Funfair Wane and Spuradich, I doubt whether I'll be studying deeply tonight!

And of course - its an absolute waste of time following "Prescott" - isn't it ! Big Grin

Anyone who thinks that it is a waste of time concentating on a "Trainer" - wants their "Brains" looking at -

I have followed Prescott all season - and now that Duffield has left the scene - Prescott can be read "Like a Book " -

VDW said as much - but - the "Old Clowns" ignore it !!
