They like everyone else on the thread - still have a lot to learn - and it doesn't help when they pose as the only ones - who - "Know it All"

A bit of "Mutual Co-Operation" - might help !

as JIB and I say - a look at the "Trainer" aspect - might progress us - a bit further !!

I agree

Newbury 2.20
_____________CR____AR_____PM_____TS
Pivitol Point____4*____246*___130*___111
The Tatling____7*____219*___129*___121*
Airwave_______17_____364*___127____122*

Won't type the rest. The numerical picture seems to indicate these three. Of the others in the top 6 in the f'cast, Magestic Missile looks out of it on the Numbers. Boogie Street has PM 130* and TS 120*, Var has CR of 8.

Has Pivitol Point now peaked. The Tatling looks set for this race, but I don't like betting on a reverse. Airwave is due a win. Has won at this level and over 5f in the past.

Airwave does not appear to be a "form" horse, but dig a little deeper... only 5L behind in a hot Gp 1 LTO. Before that only 2L behind 6th in another Gp 1.

At 13/2, I would take Airwave EW to make the frame tomorrow.

Good luck Razz

It s fairly obvious that Boozer has been there, done it, and knows it doesnt work the way Mtoto, or Barney would have us believe

Hi JIB

You said to another contributor (Investor I think it was) something about the way he'd screwed vdwology into his head... and I think that comment is probably true of me as well.

Due to my long induction into horse racing at the hands of Con'dme Daily, I find it very difficult to look at racing from another perspective. That is why I admire the work you do - selections based on other criteria, pre-posted and profitable.

Perhaps when I have more time to spare, I can take time to look at the way others like yourself look at things.

Btw, I am not saying that Airwave is a rock solid VDW punt. I have used the method in this race and the pointers I have indicated show Airwave to have claims on the race, that's all.

Some interesting stuff from several people.

Thank you all.

The race under discussion is high class and valuable, but it's a 5f sprint.

Anybody know what VDW said about sprints?

I've found that some strange results occur.

VDW "Hated" sprints - No time to sort out an early mistake - no matter how good the horse is !

Maybe thats why "Dandy" - goes in "Mob Handed" ??

Thank you, Tuppenycat.

Just for fun, my three to place would be

Pivotal Point
Texas Gold
Airwave.

Personally, I much prefer Maiden sprints ( so no need to apply any VDW).

BC,

Read The Art Of War!

Stop thinking like a punter!

Einstein said that the basis for his inteligence was the freedom he gave his imagination. I have tried to think like a trainer plotting to win with a horse and my perspective of racing seems much more realistic as a result.

TC,

My donkey register fiver is on Continent, I think Sean is closing the stable a day early!

Does anyone know how many times Dandys won this one? I know he twice took it with horses that were hcp maidens!

I don’t know where T.C gets the idea that VDW hated sprints.
VDW said that 5f sprints were ideal races for multiple betting as it is usually possible to reduce the field to just two horses.

TC,

You must not become dependant on spies, they are potentially as dangerous to yourself as to your enemy.

If you watch the opposing general closely he will often give his intentions away accidentally.

I remember once reading a book called 'Two Eggs On My Plate', the title referred to the dinner habitually served to a bomber pilot during the war. On nights he would be flying there was always an extra egg on his plate, hours before any briefing took place!
