Have you got the figures to back up these selections? I'm just thinking that if we look back at these posts a name isn't much to go on regarding the reasons for selection.

not sure what exactly you mean but here is the initial numerical picture.

150b

first four in betting

ar muin na muice
the secretary
cockney rainbow
all honey

consistency

Ar muin na 3
bellacicia 14
evolution 15

ability

Ar muin na muice 52
all honey 38
all others no rating

only one horse common to all three

Rob is this what you mean?

That's pretty much what I mean. It can be either numerical or reasoning. The point I was making is that on a thread like this just posting selections doesn't really achieve much.

I wouldn't touch the 1.50 at Bangor, the reason being that the only winning form is bumper form and there is very little current season form to go on.

First 6 in forecast

Horse..........Ability..Cons...Last Class
Polar Kingdom.......50....19...........80
Jewel Of India......33....15...........82
Quantum Leap........60....17...........60
Fortune Point.......35....16...........52
Wiggy Smith.........30.....9...........30
Great News.........111....13...........60

I use 4 ratings

R1
Quantum Leap
(Lermontov)
Fortune Point
Great News

R2
(soller Bay)
(Lermontov)
Quantum Leap
Fortune Point
Polar Kingdom

R3
Great News
Quantum Leap
Jewel Of India

R4
Great News
(Lermontov)
Polar Kingdom
Jewel Of India

Lermontov is discounted due to weight and a false ability rating. Note also the first time blinkers.

Great News drops in trip back to his last winning distance.

Soller Bay could be interesting if recapturing the form that won 17k in Nov last year

Ar Muin Na Muice strolled up in the end, but I'm not convinced that it's of much use as a VDW example. Half the field suffered from an inability to jump with any fluency, the race just looked like a racehorse against donkeys. I don't think VDW would have touched the race, but well done anyway!

I think Soller Bay is being prepared to repeat last years November win.

Quantum Leap ran his best last race out. Is there any improvement to come?

Great News looks likely to me.

I accept evrything you say VDW would not have touched that with a barge pole.

But the one it beat in ireland went on to win a class 180 bumper and for me that stood the form up solid as a rock.

I bet that VDW would have backed the fav in last years thomas pink which pulled up quickly and wasnt seen again.

MOM - Upgrade was dangerous enough to prevent a bet on Valley Henry at odds on, but when you consider the latter was improving, stayed very well and goes extremely well fresh, I would have been interested at 5/4 against or more. The trainer does very well at the meeting as you no doubt already know.

I did back Iverian earlier in the day at 7/4. Those 33/1 shock winners just don't know how to follow up do they?

Aldora possibly has another race in her this season, but this may be a warm up for Newmarket on Saturday. One to watch today?

Barney,
What do you make of Emerald Fire's (12.30 N), strange placing lto?

Luck to all
