just because he is not a false fav does not mean he will win.

There are a number of questions, he will be asked today, not least can he give all that weight away

Andrew

this is a question I asked myself last night. I think there is a question mark over chasers over hurdles but the cheltenham hill and the mud will slow down the speed horses? Is anybody betting in this race or is it a watching brief.

Golden Alpha or vol solitare?

Titus

You hit the nail on the head Barney.

Titus,it's your call,my opinion conflict, who is Class/Form horse,I'm not sure.Does Golden Alpha's last run hold the key.I would have Vol Solitaire as Class horse.A 4 Year old in this company,I don't know,Sorry can be of no further help.
Guest is looking in,maybe he might shed some light on it for us.

Bream,

Thanks for bring the Guest and Chaz post to the attention of the members. I thought I had read it somewhere. I have managed to find Chaz's post, but I can't find Guest's. I'm sure it's there somewhere, I seem to remember thinking, that doesn't quite fit in with Drumgora. I had thought that not using collateral form was one of the things VDW meant when he said change your old way of thinking. Guest was the first person I had ever seen use the c/form method to solve the PK method, and I didn't think it held water then. But it does get BL out of the way!!

Hope to many of you didn't fall foul of Horus today. I think his defeat had very little to do with weight. I wouldn't have backed him if he had carried a stone less. The defeat was down to the going, he has never won a decent race on worse than good. Forget the Newbury run, the going was good, no matter what the going report says. A bit like forgiving Golden Alpha's blunder last time at Cheltenham, (making Kadarann a lucky winner) Mccoy went for the big one because he doubted he would get up the hill. He was right!!

Greg.

I have to agree with you about Barney's post's. After nearly eighteen months they lose me most of the time. Confused I think Mr e d must be the detective, not Barney, if he can understand the postings. Pity he hasn't contributed to show me were I am going wrong with the old examples, Soaf was one of the straight questions I asked him about. Perhaps he is back on the ash bins, and hasn't had the time. Expect the tips are better than his winnings. Roll Eyes

Couldn't find a bet today, there's always tomorrow.

Happy New Year to all

perhaps Barney meant that using his understanding of the methods of VDW, RUFIUS won 16/1 was a bet!

or was it STROMNESS won 15/2? or was he dadling on the AW?

cheers and a prosperous next year to all

my resolution is to do a Barney and get the books!!!

I had no bets in the end and glad i did although i did fancy vs more on the stats i use.

Barney
I'm not sure if the last post is criptic or not but have just read Martin pipe discussing his runners today "T running today as the owners like cheltenham" although he didn't dismiss the horse.

R.E Tarxien,I wouldn't back this horse today but it would be difficult to back any of the others,For the simple fact of A.Ps record on the horse.

Barney,

Re your views on Piccled I would be amazed how you come to that conclusion when no other horses in the race have even run in that class before, let alone won.

Very positive view on tarxien mate,I hope your reasons were the same as mine,But i wouldn't have backed Joss Naylor,I don't think my nerve would have stood up to that one,What a finish must have been very close to a dead heat.
