Luckily i didnt,

the reason I put it on because yesterday people were asking is this one is that one.

That was one and interested people will do well to find out why. They lose far more often than they win.

Favs Lose more often than than they win
But if you specialise in fav's after a while you may back more winners than losers based on selectivity!!!

Not that I back fav's

I must admit I had to raise an eybrow when I saw you had altered your post twice regarding the HORUS race as soon as result was known.
What were you going to say to start with?
No offence meant, just curious?

Well done, but I doubt Mr Pertemps was a VDW selection Smile

In the kenlis race,

Why did VDW direct us to the performance of Turk in the penultimate race?

I have had a look and cant find anything untoward, has anyone any theories.

Statajack,

did you consider curly spencer as good as sir frosty even though missing the ascencia factor.

Re Turk.

I don't understand why this is giving you problems. Isn't it straight forward? He is saying although Turk finished 7th, count if as 10, because he was last of the 7 runners.

re Turk, VDW was merely emphasising that a horse which comes last (in this case last of seven), well beaten, should count ten (rather than seven) when the consistency rating is calculated. (Just as, in the 1978 Erin evaluation, Decent Fellow's third of three should count ten.)

A belated comment on your post re Horus. Guest's recent pun (and the absolutely explicit clue to which it relates) opens up new insights into how VDW factored in weight, and it is clearer than ever exactly how it was a factor in various selections. With the weight Horus actually carried, he was a Canny Danny or Smartset. But with a stone less I'd have been very interested in backing him.

I should add swish that afterwards my immediate thoughts were that horus had showed quite well GIVEN the conditions he was asked to race under.

Thank you for the direction to letter 35, it has indeed answered my question's, as you knew it would.

36 confirms it as well, I still dont think Mr spiers had got it even though he found three winners.

Thanks

I am sorry for keep asking this but I only have form books back to 76 and I cant get the true picture for some of the older NH horses.

Has anyone got the ability ratings for royal bonds race?
