He has already extended his slimy tentacles to another website, no doubt with the same idea; to use it as a host for his parasites to feed upon.
Fortunately, there are some who use both websites, so, hopefully, they will be alert to the nature of the beast, and take the appropriate action.
It is a fact that your website is far and away the best on the internet, and will continue to attract new blood long after theirs has atrophied, but you do need to cut out the cancer before this thread can begin its regeneration.
You already have a list of some of its members, I am sure the rest can be exposed with a fair degree of accuracy.
Get rid of them now, and this thread will eventually return to its former glory.

I don't think any VDWer I know is complaining, or feels himself victimised. Rather, (as Mtoto's recent post surely shows) it is more a matter of regret, and becoming fed up with the constant abuse and disruption.

I'm unclear why you suppose the expulsion of the VDWers who also (I stress also) post elsewhere is either justified or a necessary condition for this thread to its former glory.

As regards justification, you can't seriously imagine that we are the only members who also contribute to other boards, RSUK, Betfair, etc.

As regards being a condition for the thread to return to its former glory, do you really and truly suppose any or all of us to be waiting to pounce on any unsuspecting newcomer VDWer and disrupt their posts? I would have thought the opposite, and that any worthwhile posts on matters VDW would generate interest and (at least until the "abusers" set to again) responses.

You make allegations which are both unfounded, and known to be unfounded by at least two dozen other members of this board. I have described my position in relation to the VDW board before, fully and accurately. In essence, I am merely one of those invited by the proprietor to join, who in turn drew the board to the attention of some others I thought might be interested to join, too.

I see nothing discreditable in this, and it is the actions of yourself and others like Epiglotis and JIB that have led to the demise of this thread. After all, had it not been for the constant, and sometimes foul-mouthed, abuse that is your collective trade-mark, the proprietor would not have established a board, and people like me would have had no reason to join it.

Far from any kind of conspiracy, what we have seen is people voting with their fingers. When the choice is available of posting to a civilised board where, in nearly three months and over 1,800 contributions, there has yet to be an abusive post, and being assailed by the kind of posts to which you, Epiglotis etc are prone, is it any wonder which they choose. I don't imagine you will have tempted many back by your "rats" reference.

If you had a brain you would stop, and wonder who is going to revive the thread. You? What have the likes of Fulham, etc. done wrong? They are/were members of other forums before this one, as were many other contributors to this thread. In fact I know for a fact he and I worked to BRING people to this site.

He and I have thanked Gummy for allowing the thread to progress. No matter what you or others think it was also a BIG asset to Gummy. How many joined his forum because of the thread?

The thread thrived with only a few dissenting voices. Many learnt from it as most if not all is on the thread for those who wish to find it. As with everything there is a little fine tuning to do. Until that is done the picture will not be clear, but the basics are all in place. Where else have you ever seen that? I know I haven't.

People got fed up with the nonsense on the thread, and started to returned to their original forums. Someone suggested the other forums joined forces. No one was dragged screaming, forced or intimidated into joining. In fact potential members are being turn away unless they have a sponsor. No one has gone out looking for members. As I said what are the likes of Nessie supposed to do, if they want to learn about VDW?

You believe what you like, but tell me how we destroyed thread? By doing what some wanted going away? Or not playing the game as others wanted? I have said many times, as long as I know how others are working that is enough. It doesn't matter if the selections are put up before, or after the race. Anyone with an OUNCE of sense can look at a selection, and make up their own mind about whether or not it is a VDW selection. Depending on who makes the selection, you know how much work to put in if you don't understand it.

I still disagree with many on the fine tuning, and it will be interesting to sort it out.

Neither a fascist nor a liberal. It may be true I share some common ground with you (we`ve exchanged and agreed one or two points previously) but that doesn`t extend to a liberal outlook.

With regard to the Epi episode, perhaps I was mistaken. I had assumed your admirable restraint was borne of a steel like grip on your own self control, a truly worthy virtue.

The possibility that your inaction was actually a liberal laissez-faire (live and let live) attitude to what had been said never crossed my mind. This would (in my book) be a case of the end definatley not justifying the means.

You say you have no problem with noone naming a horse before the event.

Let me explain why it caused many problems to other members of the board.

I shall list the problems, (not necessarily in the right order,).

1.Lots of winners were claimed by various people that were never proved.

2. When horses were named in advance the results were absolutely abysmal, mostly being very short priced favs in Group races. Many punters know that backing short price favs in group races is a straight slide to the poor house.

3. However when any "outsider" questioned the validity of any picks they were just dismissed or ignored.

4. Many members of the board asked questions of a varying nature, to fulham. Guest etc. Virtually all were ignored.

5. It became impossible to criticise anything in a productive way because of this attitude.

6. I personally named a few good winners in lower class races (before the event), and asked what VDW people thought about such picks.
Only type of reply I got was VDW would not have considered such races!
I got that 25-1 winner that day, TYNDARIUS and asked about it. The attitude was, "not worth considering".
Do you not think people can feel extremely insulted by such a reply?
There were many people who were interested in this VDW thing and tried to join in, but just got blanked.

7. AND THIS WHY YOU SHOULD UNDERSTAND THE ATTITUDE OF MANY MEMBERS

PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE TO BE SHUNNED, IN ANY WALK OF LIFE, SOCIAL OR PROFESSIONAL.
ESPECIALLY BY PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER PROVED A THING.
It causes resentment and trouble. In a pub it could well result in violence.
On the board people responded with sarcasm and abuse because they wont be treated like **** by people who have proved nothing.

I was annoyed that no one acknowleged it.
Some one replied that they weren't even interested in what I picked, yet I had used many "so called" VDW priciples to pick the thing!
