Investor,

With reference to Golden Years, can you elaborate on what races should command interest?

Greg,

I trust you got my emails prior to my holiday? I'm now back and fully refreshed.

Hello Lee
Starting with the principal meeting

1.Select the most valuable race on the card

2.Consider next most valuable race.

3.Select most valuable race from other cards.

Was your last post meant to point out the 2yo race. Smile

Westmoreland Road -
The other thing that struck me about this horse - is that it holds an entry for 29k group 3 in 2 days time - It looks as if she has passed that up - in favour of this race Confused

Investor,

No, VDW stated that on the 14 April 1979 there were five races from all cards worth consideration?

Investor,

Allow me to explain the aftertiming problem for you.

It is easy, once the winner is known, to find some vdw characteristic about it, afterall the race has done 99% of the work for you.

The hard part, for those interested anyway, is to guess which of the multitudinious vdw characteristics is going to give the winner in a forthcoming race.

No one minds if you say horse X will win the 200K because it is a perfect example of 'Rifle Brigade'. The trouble starts when you clainm that horse X won the 200K because it was a perfect example of 'Rifle Brigade'.

Yes,Three of them being from the principle meeting. He does afterall say that "other races may come into the methods,But stick to the higher class races" in the main he used the 2 from the principal and one from each of the others,Of course we have the h/cap chase and hurdle methods but as we know that's over the sticks. TC,

Dont worry unduly about Westmoreland Road, he is only an example of a horse that is well in at the weights and for which reason I regard him as well placed.

Pinnochio has been rather cowardly Im afraid by mentioning the 2nd and 3rd favs without having the courage to say which will win. But I'm sure if WR wins he already has his excuse prepared.

Though his comment "Note how he was out of the first three at the extended distance." doesnt inspire much confidence in his ability considering he is discussing a Diesis colt.

From a vdw perspective I laid out the race perfectly adequately. After all it is a vdw thread. mentioning the positives and negatives of the principals. We are looking for horses that are all three rolled into one, something you will never come to terms with.

PS, diesis is a miler.

Its not Bad !! - since Sept 1 (page 607) -

we have had 3 pages of posts !! - admitly - a lot of "Invective" - but of also - a lot of positive posts - and - at last !! - some pre race postings !!!

Well done !!!

we may be - "Getting There" !!!!

Smile

My 2 days of results analysis seem to have got lost in the excitement - but I don't mind that - as long as the thread is taking off again !!
